Prompt #15: Use many layers of different materials.
I started with blue/white/gold handmade paper that I bought at an art store. I covered parts of it with green, yellow, white, and blue acrylics, then blotted them away in some areas. Next I added some white tissue paper. Then I covered the entire piece with a fine whitish tulle, which I secured with gloss medium. When that was dry, I cut waves in this fabric and inserted the fish. The various stitching came next. I used variegated threads so that there are subtle changes in the colors of the stitches. Finally, I added colored pencil highlights and lowlights, and a few more pieces of tissue. Whew.
