A responsibility I have for having been granted my residency at the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument this past June is to provide the monument with a few pieces of art based on my impressions from the place. They then will choose at least one to hang in their visitor center next summer and also have the license to use the image for whatever they want. I keep the copyright and can do what I want with the original, which they will return to me in a year.
Here is the first one. The John Day River flows past Cathedral Rock. The trout are swimming upstream.
